All you need to know about a SIM only deals

SIM only plans offer the most flexible, cost-effective way of paying for your data, calls and texts, without the additional cost of a new phone. These plans, when compared to the same data plan with a new phone on contract, are far cheaper, over half as much - even on the same network.

Not only are the plans cheaper, but they also come with very short-term contracts, from a 30-day rolling plan, giving the flexibility to chop and change, or up to 24-months for the ultimate in savings. The longer the term, the greater the savings.

A SIM only deal works like this: the price you pay covers the monthly cost of the data, minutes and texts, plus any free EU roaming – there is no new mobile phone included. Mozillion (or any other provider) will send you a new SIM card by post normally, or by email to download an eSIM (a digital sim) to your existing phone, depending on the type of SIM you order, to get you up and running.

You need to ensure you phone is unlocked to use a SIM only plan from another network provider, alternatively you can keep your existing SIM card if you decide to change tariff to a SIM only plan with your same network provider.

Let's get you signed up!

Simply select the SIM plan and term above, submit your details on the next page and choose your payment method by credit/debit card or direct debit.

There is no credit check with Mozillion, your next step is to decide if you wish to keep your existing phone number, if you do, you will need a PAC number to complete the transfer by texting PAC to 65075. Enter the code sent to you on to our site or send it to us when you're ready to port your number over.

Once the order is confirmed your new SIM card will be sent by 1st class post, or if an eSIM, sent to your email address for instant use.

If you are keeping your number, the porting will take between 1 and 3 working days to complete.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can change network provider and slash your phone bills with Mozillion provided you are out of contract with your existing supplier. If you want to keep your old number, then this can be ported over to our network that runs on EE at the checkout or any time after taking on of our SIM only deals.
EE has been named as the best network for 10 years in a row, by an independent test conducted by Rootmetrics, which shows that EE is the best overall mobile network for customers across the UK. EE was proven to be the best for reliability, accessibility, speed, data, calls and texts. EE’s UK-wide median download speed 65.1Mbps was found to be nearly twice as fast as any other mobile operator, 400% faster than 02/Virgin Media at 15.5Mbps, Three 34.7Mbps, and Vodafone 29.4%. This information was published by Rootmetrics, UK RootScore Report 1H 2023.

If you want to sign up to an EE SIM only deal, then consider Mozillion as the SIM plans offered are better value and use EE’s network along with uncapped 5G speeds – up to 10x faster than 4G speeds.
The more budget friendly MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators) use the Three network such as Smarty, owned by Three, ID Mobile, owned by Curry’s and Honest Mobile, privately owned.

VOXI, Talkmobile, owned by Vodafone, use Vodafone along with Lebara and Asda Mobile.

Tesco Mobiles, Sky Mobiles use O2, along with Giff Gaff, which is owned by 02.

MVNOs that use the EE network are Mozillion, privately owned, and Spusu an Austrian company operating in the UK.

EE is the only network that does not have a budget sub brand, unlike Three, Vodafone or 02, so the best way to slash your phone bills with an EE SIM only deal is with Mozillion.
Yes if you want to slash your phone bills, SIM only deals offer great savings over traditional phone contract deals. SIM only costs a fraction of the price of the airtime when bundled with a new phone on contract. You get far more data, calls and texts for a smaller monthly fee.

In addition to the cost saving Vs phone contract deals, SIM only plans offer very short term contracts so you are not tied in, these start from a 30-day rolling plan, 12 and 24-months terms. The longer you sign up for the greater the saving becomes.

A Mozillion Unlimited SIM only deal could save you hundreds of pounds over 12-months compared to other network's plans.

If you don't need to replace your phone, then a SIM only plan is the best way to make instant savings, these are perfect for families, businesses and individuals.
There is no real disadvantage as the savings are so great, unless you need a new phone, as SIM only plans do not include one.
The best SIM only deal is one that suits your needs and budget, simply look at you last few bills to find out how much data you use, then find a SIM plan with slightly more data.

Consider what you are happy to pay each month, some SIM plans are very cheap but the speeds are throttled right back, so in effect you may have a new 5G phone with a 5G SIM plan – but the browsing speeds are worse than 3G. Find a SIM plan from a company that uses a quality network with uncapped speeds.

The 4 large networks charge more money for more speed on the same plan – they may have 5 variations of an Unlimited SIM only plan, the cheapest may have speeds capped at 10Mbps only – 5G speeds can hit 650Mbps. All Mozillion SIM plans have uncapped speeds on the EE network.

Data allowance is another consideration, you need enough to browse the web, for social media, streaming and gaming. To get the right amount of data, so you are not paying for more than you need, simply check your usage from you last phone bills or directly with your network provider. Some phones can also give you data usage in the settings menu.

SIM only plans have 3 different terms, 1-month, 12-month, and 24-months, the longer period you agree to the greater the saving. Once the term is up you're free to move plans or swap network providers.

1-month rolling plans offer the greatest flexibility, as you can stay for as long as you like or keep switching networks after a 30-day period.
Very simple if you are out of contract with your existing network provider, contact them to find out if you are out of contract or when it will end. If you wish to change network earlier than the end of your contact, the network may charge you an early termination fee to exit the contract.

If you take a SIM only deal with a new number it will work as soon as you put it in your phone, if you are porting your number then this could take up to 1-3 working days from your order date. An eSIM will work instantly once downloaded.
All SIM only contracts start from the date of despatch, normally a working day, Monday to Friday. An eSIM is sent by email, so almost instant, and plastic SIM cards are sent by 1st Class Royal Mail.
Switching to another network may cause a temporary loss of service whilst your number ports across to the new provider. However, once this has completed you can access the new network without any further loss of service.

If you are not keeping your number, turn the phone off before switching SIM cards, turn back on once back in the phone, and browsing, calls and texting should be instant thereafter.
If your phone is locked to a specific network, you will need to have it unlocked to use a SIM only deal on another network provider. Phones purchased using a traditional phone contract deal, are locked at point of sale, so they will only work with a SIM card from that provider. If your phone is network locked you need to contact your current provider for an unlocking code.

Unlocking your phone is very straightforward, many providers offer this service at no cost or for a small admin charge, after meeting certain conditions, such as being out of contract or using the phone on contract for a minimum term of 6-months.

To check the status of your iPhone:
Settings – General – About – scroll to Network Provider Lock. No SIM restrictions displayed means it is unlocked.

To check an Android phone:
Settings – Connections – Network and Internet - Mobile network – Choose network. If only one network is showing the phone is locked, if several are displayed it is unlocked.
Some of the best EE SIM only deals are offered by Mozillion, companies like Mozillion offer airtime with their own brand but using the EE network. This is very simple, the easiest method is to text the word PAC to 65075, and a code will be sent straight to your phone. Alternatively contact your network provider. Once you have your PAC code you can port your number to any new SIM only deal.
Yes, Mozillion offers SIM plans with a 5G enabled SIM card, so if you have a 5G phone it will automatically pick up the strongest signal available between 4G and 5G so you will always have a signal.
