Here’s how to clear the cache of an app on an iPad. Apps store data which can take up valuable storage space, if you want to start fresh with an app here’s what you need to do.
Follow these simple steps or watch our handy video below.
-
Head into your iPad’s settings.
-
Scroll down until you see General and once you’re there find the option that says iPad storage and tap it to open.
-
You’ll see a list of your installed apps, tap the app you want to clear.
-
You’ll see an option to delete the app which in this case also deletes the app stored data.
-
Tap that and Apple will warn you that deletes all the cached and stored data as well.
-
Tap delete app again but remember this cannot be undone.
-
This removes all data stored by the app and the app cache. The app will also be gone from your home screen.
-
To reintall the app (but with none of your stored app data), head to the App Store and search for the same app and tap to install it.
-
Once downloaded, tap the app to open it. All your previous data will have been removed you’ll need to sign into to the app and accept terms and conditions if required as if you were using it for the first time.
