Using your phone abroad
Mozillion plans include EU roaming across 41 destinations at no extra cost – this means you can use your plan’s data, calls and texts when you’re in these countries, including calling and texting back to the UK without incurring extra costs.
You can use up to 25% of your monthly data allowance if you’re on a 3GB-100GB plan, or 50% of your allowance if you are on a 1GB plan when roaming. For 500GB and unlimited data plans, you can use up to 25GB of your monthly data allowance.
Before you go, ensure you have enabled Data Roaming within your phone’s settings.
You currently can’t use your Mozillion plan outside of the EU destinations or the UK but new add-on services for this and international calling will be available soon.
Which countries can I use my roaming allowance in?
You can use your calls, texts and data roaming allowance in 41 destinations when coverage is available:
Spain (including Canary and Balearic Islands), France, Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Poland, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Switzerland. Belgium, Sweden, Croatia, Hungary, Malta, Lithuania, Romania, Finland, Czech Republic, Norway, Slovakia, Austria, Denmark, Gibraltar, Iceland, Latvia, Estonia, Luxembourg, Guadeloupe, Slovenia, Liechtenstein, French Guiana, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Martinique, Réunion, San Marino, Faroe Islands.
Please ensure you have enabled data roaming in your phone’s mobile network settings or you will not be able to use data roaming in eligible countries.
Please note, not all European networks support 5G yet and where they don’t, 4G or 3G will be available.
What is the difference between roaming and international calls?
Calling, texting, and using data outside of the UK in an eligible roaming destination is called roaming.
If you are in the UK or abroad and you are calling someone who is in another country from you, you are using international calls.
With Mozillion plans, you cannot make international calls from the UK or when abroad, but you can use your minutes, texts and permitted data allowance when you are in the EU eligible countries to get online and to call or text UK and local numbers for the country you are in, subject to our fair usage policy.
I am roaming currently and can’t make calls.
If you are unable to make or receive calls when roaming, it may be that the network you are roaming on doesn’t support VoLTE (4G) and WiFi Calling – see below for how to disable this feature so you can make and receive calls.
I am roaming currently and can’t use data.
If you are unable to use data, try the following:
+ Ensure Data Roaming is enabled in your phone’s network settings.
+ Try manually selecting a different network in your phone’s network settings as not all networks have 4G or 5G coverage in all areas – for example, in Spain, some areas have better data coverage with Orange and some have better coverage on Movistar.
+ Check your data allowance.
Is VoLTE and WiFi Calling supported when roaming?
Mozillion supports VoLTE and WiFi Calling but not all networks in other countries support this feature yet, so if you are roaming in a country that doesn’t offer this service and you are unable to make calls, you may need to disable VoLTE and WiFi Calling in your phone’s settings.
If you are unable to do this in your phone’s settings, please contact us as we may be able to do this for you.
Roaming Fair usage policy
Our plans are priced based on reasonable assumptions of average usage considering comparable statistics from comparable service providers in the UK. In case abnormal usage is detected, Mozillion reserves the right to suspend the availability of the bundle and/or to increase the price of any bundle in case of abusive, fraudulent, unreasonable, or abnormal usage. Such usage may include, but is not limited to, usage of bundles in permanent roaming (or with abnormally high roaming compared to national usage), abnormally high usage compared to industry standards, use of unauthorised equipment (including but not limited to “SIM boxes”, modems, and Wi Fi routers).
